Cat Depot, is a nonprofit, free roaming, no-kill feline rescue, adoption, education and resource center, and is dedicated to helping abandoned, homeless and injured cats and kittens with medical care, food and shelter until they are adopted into forever homes. A leader in feline health care and mental well-being, Cat Depot houses over 130 cats and kittens in a 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. Cat Depot has changed the destiny of thousands of formerly homeless felines, currently living joyful lives because of donations and supporters like you.
We serve the Manatee and Sarasota County areas, but also have participated in rescues in the state of Florida and the nation.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    You can fill out our application online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CDFL/Cat
  2. Interview
    Once you have submitted your application, an adoption counselor will contact you by email or phone. You will then schedule an appointment.
  3. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    The Adoption Counselor will go over the cat's medical history, vaccination records, and microchip info with you.
  5. Pay Fee
    Cat Depot is a non-profit organization, and our adoption fees help to subsidize the medical care we provide to the cats.
  6. Take the Pet Home
    You will take your new kitty home that same day.

Additional adoption info

Adoptions are by appointment only, and we can not "hold" cats for potential adopters.

Adoption fees: Adult cats: $75; Kittens $100. Fees for special breeds may differ.

All cats receive veterinary exam, tested for FIV/FeLV, fecal test, treated for fleas, parasites and ear mites, receive rabies and RVRCP vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
