Shelter FAQs

We are a municipal animal shelter. We take in stray dogs and sick or injurred cats. Our shelter is unique to most because it has a room used to house our cats in an open colony, once seen by the vet, they are not housed in cages! Our staff is limited, but our volunteers are in abundance. We have a new volunteer group up at the shelter called

FRIENDS OF THE BRISTOL ANIMAL SHELTER
. Their main goal is to raise the monies necessary to build a new state of the art animal shelter for the Town of Bristol. Funding is also used in emergency veterinary care. Visit their website for further information and to learn how you can help them reach their goal.

All donations can be sent to: Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter 11 Broad Common Road Unit 155 Bristol, RI 02809
Bristol

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $85.00 for cats and $100.00 for dogs, both include a $20.00 spay/neuter deposit. If the pet has not already been altered, the $20.00 deposit will be returned with proof of spay or neuter.
