Shelter FAQs

Pearl River County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a Mississippi state non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and humane treatment of animals throughout the county. It operates solely from funds provided locally. Private donations are important to accomplishing this mission.
We primarily adopt to Picayune, Pearl River County, the coastal MS and the cities in lower LA: Slidell, Covington, Mandeville, New Orleans, and Pearl River in LA. We have adopted to people in Washington State, New York,Maine, Florida, and California, to name some of the distant states in which our babies have found forever homes.

Additional adoption info

We do same day adoptions after a personal interview. We have a contract that requires Veterinary care and proper treatment. Our cats must be indoors and not declawed, most dogs require a fenced yard. Our cats and kittens are adopted already spayed/neutered. Our dogs and puppies are adopted already S/N.

We accept cash and credit/debit cards for our adoption fees.
