Areas Animal House Rescue Inc. serves

We serve anyone looking to adopt a loving pet. We do not, however, ship our pets so you would have to be willing to drive to the Toledo area to pick up your new family member.

Animal House Rescue Inc.'s adoption process

Additional adoption info

You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt a dog or cat. You may be refused the right of adoption if the consensus of the screeners is that adoption to your home would not be in the animal’s best interest. We reserve the right to check on any adopted animal in the future, and as a final measure, will reclaim the animal if improperly treated or housed, or if false statements were made on the adoption application.

We insist that you have your animal checked by a veterinarian within ONE WEEK of adoption, if a very recent examination has not occurred. The animal must immediately be placed on heartworm preventative and kept on it year round.

We acknowledge that an animal’s personality and behavior may be altered by placement in any new environment. If an adoptive family encounters difficulties with a new dog or cat, we will aid in correcting the problem if possible.

If at anytime in the animal’s lifetime the animal is no longer wanted or if you are unable to keep the animal for any reason you must contact Adoption House Rescue. The adoption fee refund only applies for sick animals returned within 10 days of adoption.

ADOPTION FEES

Please check each pet, as adoption fees vary due to the fact that we have to pay to pull these animals from shelters/pounds/puppymills to save their lives. The adoption fee is noted with every pet listed.

About Animal House Rescue Inc.

We are a non profit rescue organization with tax exempt 501c3 status. We rescue dogs and cats from area kill shelters, have them spayed or neutered, get them up to date on their vaccinations and place them into forever homes. We currently have no shelter and run strictly out of foster homes.

Animal House Rescue, Inc. was founded in April of 2002 by Jody Goins and Nancy Romanczuk. Jody and Nancy met in 2000 when they were both volunteers at the Fulton County Humane Society. When the Humane Society decided it would no longer accept animals, they could not simply sit back and do nothing. Jody and Nancy were the ones who would get the pictures of dogs and cats on euthanasia lists all across Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. So, that's when they decided to branch out and form Animal House Rescue.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
