If you are looking to adopt a cat, we encourage you to visit our shelter. There are no scheduled appointments at CCS – simply drop by during the shelter’s open hours. When you visit the shelter seeking to adopt, one of our friendly adoption counselors can answer any questions and help you find your new best friend! Once you have found a cat that suits you – which may take more than one visit – fill out an adoption application. You will then go through the adoption process to learn more about the specific cat you have chosen and to review the adoption contract. Adoption paperwork usually takes about 30-45 minutes to complete and review. They have undergone a physical examination upon entry into the shelter, and dewormer and FVRCP vaccinations have been given. If they are over 4 months they will have received a rabies vaccination. If they are 6 months or older, they will have been snap tested for FIV, FeLV and Heartworm. All adoptable cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered. All cats and kittens leave the shelter with a 14-day health care assistance plan, a collar and ID tag, and an implanted microchip used to help return lost pets to their homes.
