Wisconsin Rat Terrier Rescue, Inc. was formed in 2004.
WRTR is a 501(c)3, non profit organization.


Our mission is to assist homeless Rat Terriers in finding permanent homes with responsible, loving, forever families. We make every effort to carefully match each rat terrier with the right family to maximize the likelihood of a successful adoption.

WRTR also provides information to individuals who are having difficulties with their canine companions.

Additional adoption info

We spay or neuter all Rat Terriers prior to placement and check references on all adopters.
We require 2 personal references and a veterinary reference. We do have a contract that must be signed.
