Rescue FAQs

Society of Humane Friends of Georgia, Inc is a licensed animal rescue group in Lawrenceville, GA. SOHFGA was incorporated in early 1998 and is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 1998 we have placed thousands of rescued dogs and cats in loving adoptive homes. We accept homeless, neglected and abused pets from various metro-Atlanta county shelters. We also accept owner surrenders on a space-available basis. All animals are evaluated and fully vetted before they are offered for adoption. SOHFGA also runs a low cost spay/neuter clinic open to the general public. Once a month we offer a low-cost vaccine/microchip clinic for the public.

Apply at https://sohfga.com Potential adopters are carefully screened to ensure a good match between human and animal. All animals are housed in volunteer foster homes and adoptions are scheduled by appointment at our Adoption Center in downtown Lawrenceville.
