Rescue FAQs

The Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter (FAAS) is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing financial and volunteer support to the Attleboro Animal Shelter and surrounding community for the care and well-being of the hundreds of unwanted, stray and needy cats and dogs. On a daily basis, our volunteers provide these homeless animals with nourishment, medical treatment, affection, and most of all, help in finding a loving new home. Can't find the time to volunteer? Foster! Fostering is a great way to help out a needy pet. Consider opening your home to dog or cat who needs a little extra love and attention or a momma cat and her babies. Long term and short term fostering is available. Monetary donations are always appreciated and are tax deductible. We also welcome donations of cat food, cat litter, dog treats and beds, paper towels, laundry soap and cleaning supplies. We can only continue doing the great work we do with your help.

Additional adoption info

To adopt from us we require that you be over 18, fill out an adoption application, have your landlords permission, and a current vet reference, (if you currently own pets or have in the past), and personal references.
The adoption fee includes a vet visit, rabies and distemper shots, flea & tick treatment, and spay or neuter. For cats it also includes the combo test for FIV and FELeuk.
All of our pets have been vet checked, have all their required vaccines, and are ready for their new homes!
