Rescue FAQs

Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes as many Dalmatians and Dal Mixes from Florida shelters as possible that need our help. Our first and main priority is to take the Dalmatians who are facing euthanasia from high-kill shelters. Since our formal inception in 2003, Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay has placed over 1,200 dogs. Each potential home is thoroughly screened including a home check and vet check. Every Dal is neutered or spayed before placing. All Dals are kept in foster homes while healing and awaiting a forever home.

Additional adoption info

Before any Dalmatian is placed, an Adoption Application must be filled out and approved. A copy is available on our website. Next a veterinarian check is done to make sure existing or past pets are well cared for. And finally, a home check is done to make sure the Dal is going to a safe and clean environment. Adoption fee is $225 for purebreds under 8 and $125 for Dal mixes and Dals over 8 years of age.
