The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin (formerly the Rock County Humane Society) is a private nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to provide shelter and humane care to lost and homeless pets, reunite lost pets with their families, promote positive pet adoptions and educate our community in order to inspire compassion and responsible pet guardianship.
Rock County Wisconsin and surrounding areas. There are no residency limitations for adopters.
Adoption steps
- Meet the PetWe like to have the whole family meet the pet(s) and have any resident dogs meet the potential new adoptee dog.
- Sign Adoption ContractAfter you fall in love, we'll have you fill out our Adoption Application (so we have your info, not to approve/deny) and sign the contract.
- Take the Pet HomeAfter all paperwork is filled out and fees paid, you get to go home with your new furry friend!

An adoption application is completed after an adopter finds the right match.
Cat fees: Senior - $40, Adult - $80, Kitten - $125.
Dog fees: Adult - $230-$255, Puppy - $300+
All adoptions include: spay/neuter, vaccines including rabies if age appropriate, deworm, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, flea/tick/ear mite treatment, 30 days free pet insurance, and a microchip.
