Additional adoption info
The purpose of Pug Adoption is to provide a healthy, happy, home for the lifetime of the pug. It is not to provide a low-cost pet. We see adoption as a privilege that families are selected for based on individual merit, not on a first come basis. The adoption fees are used towards support of the pugs. Money is used for vet bills, medicine, food, toys, and other supplies. Absolutely NO money is paid to volunteers for salaries or mileage. Extra funds are used for rescue efforts. All applicants must be legal adults with a means of supporting a pet PLUS any unexpected medical issues. Stability is very important. Many pugs will have one thing or another happen during their lifetime that requires some form of attention. The needs of the pug are most important. Pugs need stable homes quickly. Pugs need to settle in to a home and not to bounce from foster to foster. They need affection and tender loving care. GMPR requires a home visit on every applicant - no exceptions..
YOU MUST BE 18 TO FILL THIS OUT!
We only adopt to people living in NH, Vt and Northeast New York (Albany north to Canada including Plattsbugh and surrounding towns.)
4/23/06- At GMPR's Board of Directors Meeting it was voted on and approved to raise the adoption fees effective 7/1/06. Due to the rising cost in vet fees, we need to take these steps. Each pug is spay/neutered, all shots given, heartworm/lyme tested, and bloodwork done to ensure they are as healthy as can be. We also take care of any other medical issue that could come up for any pug in foster care- if they need to see an eye vet- they do. If they have rotten gross teeth- we do a dental. We do whatever the pugs need to be healthy to get adopted out.
STARTING 7/1/06 our adoption fees will be as follows:
Puppies to age 1 yr $450.00
1yr to 6 yrs $350.00
7-10 yrs is $150.00
11+ yrs is $100.00
Any pure breed that is bred to create a "designer breed" for example- puggles, Chugs, Jugs, etc- as of March 1, 2007 their adoption fees will be $250.00 until age 7yrs then the adoption fee is $150.00.
