Additional adoption info
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, have their teeth cleaned if needed, microchipped, UTD on shots, heart worm tested and started on prevention, and had any other medical problems they may have treated by our vet and been given a clean bill of health prior to placement. We also send our dogs home with a collar/leash, martingle collar for sighthound breeds, shot records, and whatever the dog came to rescue with if it was an owner surrender. Our adoption fees vary based on the history of the dog. Mill dogs have higher fees because they have higher medical needs when they come in. Younger dogs have higher adoption fees to help us cover some of the bills on older and special needs dogs. Older and special needs dogs have lower adoption fees as we understand these dogs will usually require a much larger financial commitment to keep them healthy. Our average adoption fee is $300. Adoption fees may be higher or lower depending on paticular dog you're interested in. Generally dogs that come from the shelter have lower adoption fees as they often have some of their vet work done at the time we pull them from the shelter. Our adoption fees are higher on our puppies because they are easy to place, and we use the excess to be able to afford the care for our special needs cases where vet bills on an individual dog often exceed $1000. We put between $300 and $400 a piece into each and every dog that comes into rescue between dentals, shots, heartworm testing, blood work when needed, spay/neuter, microchipping, and everything else they need while in our care. When you adopt a dog from us, we do our very best to make sure you're getting the healthiest dog possible, or make sure all health and/or behavioral problems are discussed in detail.
