Rescue FAQs

The Pixie Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of animals through adoption services and low cost spay & neuter assistance. Our adoption center and non-profit retail store is located at 510 N.E. MLK Blvd Portland, OR 97232. We are open Tues-Fri 11-6, Sat 11-4. Part of our mission is to help prevent overcrowding in county and rural shelters, therefore the majority of our animals are transferred from those shelter to Pixie Project. We do not accept owner surrendered pets or strays.
We are based out of Portland, OR but our services are open and available to residents of any location. However, we do not ship animals.

Additional adoption info

We have an application which can be downloaded from our website www.pixieproject.org and sent back to us via email or fax (503-542-3437). Once the application has been filled out and submitted to us it is forwarded to our adoption committee. Once the application has been reviewed and processed the applicant will be contacted. This process usually takes about 24-48 hours.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (excluding rabies), and microchipped. Our adoption fees are based on the age and health of the dog or cat. Each pet’s fee is listed at the end of their description.
