Rescue FAQs

We rescue not for politics, fortune, or fame, my friend… but for the kiss of a dog. Founded in 2001 by Bay Area animal activist Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog Rescue is a 501-C3 nonprofit corporation supported completely by donations. Our all-volunteer, home-based organization guarantees that your donations are completely focused on saving dogs. Rocket Dog Rescue’s ultimate goal is to help create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes.
We generally serve the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We generally do not adopt pets outside of the state of California - although exceptions are made on a case by case basis.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/ From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.
