Rescue FAQs

Purrfect Friends is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization made up of a group of volunteers that are committed to helping with the problem of unaltered animals. We realize the only way to end the abundance of homeless animals is by spaying or neutering. We will assist any owner in spaying or neutering of their animals, and we will assist with medical expenses for owners that cannot afford medical care for their pets. We do not want the animals to suffer due to a lack of funds by owners. As space permits, we rescue animals in need. The cats we have up for adoption are in foster care and are spayed/neutered, leukemia/aids tested negative and up to date on their shots. Some are even declawed. Because the cats are kept in personal homes- we know their personalities, their likes and dislikes. This makes it easier to help make that purrfect match! If you find a cat you are interested in --you would call and make arrangements to meet the cat. If you meet the cat and like the cat you would then fill out an application. Once the application has been processed and approved the potential owners would take the cat.. Cats can live to be in their 20's - so it is a long committment. No adoption is complete until we are sure the cat is happy, and the owners are happy. The application guarantees that the cat can be returned at any time for any reason. If you adopt a cat - you are not out on your own - and you can call at any time with questions, we are here to help. We want YOU happy and the CAT happy!!
We will assist any county in Southern Indiana or Louisville, KY.
