The Floyd County Humane Society is an all volunteer organization and all our animals are in foster care.
We are a non profit 501c3 organization.
We promote responsible companion animal ownership by providing assistance for spaying or neutering in order to reduce animal overpopulation, place animals in need of a permanent home in a safe and loving environment through our foster care program, serve our community through education on animal issues and dedicate ourselves to protecting the moral and ethical rights of all living creatures. We were established in 1999 and remain committed to our motto of helping animals and their people.

We promote responsible companion animal ownership by providing assistance to reduce animal overpopulation, place animals in need of a permanent home in a safe and loving environment through our foster care program, serve our community through education on animal issues and dedicate ourselves to protecting the moral and ethical rights of all living creatures. We have been established since 1999 and remain committed to our motto of helping people and helping animals.

Our Adoption Process...
Our application is designed to help you and us to find the best possible match. FCHS requests 3 personal references and a veterinary reference if applicable.
When we receive your completed adoption application, we will contact the references and a volunteer will do a home visit. We are all volunteers and it may take a few days to process your application.The current adoption fee is $185.00 for dogs, $40.00 for adult cats and $85 for kittens. Fees help us cover the costs of the spay or neuter, vaccines, de-worming and flea treatments. You will receive copies of the pets medical records when the adoption process has been completed. we ask that you sign an adoption contract before the pet can be released in your care.
