Persons interested in adopting animals from the Sutter Animal Services Authority should go to the Animal Shelter (see address below).The fee involved to adopt is $10* plus a $40 refundable spay/neuter deposit. If the animal is a dog and is over the age of four months, a Sutter County Dog License must be purchased. See the Animal Fee Schedule for License Fees.

*Vaccination fee of $30.00 for dogs and $23.00 for cats.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
