Rajah's Rescue Sanctuary & Foster

Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster is a “no kill rescue” for unwanted, abused, neglected or abandoned animals including but not limited to dogs, cats and horses in Lafayette County and surrounding Counties in Florida. The animals at Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster are rescued due to running the streets, unwanted by their owners, shot, broken bones, starvation, dog fighting, and many other unthinkable actions. Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster is committed to the rehabilitation, love and care of each animal.
Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster is located on 9 acres of land which give the animals plenty of room to run and get exercise. The dog kennels are cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. The inside kennels are also air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. The dogs run the fields at least 3 times a day.
The horses are let out to run and graze daily. The barn is accommodated with fans and misters for the summer heat. The horses are blanketed in the barn when the weather drops below 35 degrees. All animals are fed daily and always have fresh water. They are checked by a Vet on a regular basis, groomed, vaccinated and wormer are given to all animals and a Ferrier comes on a regular basis also to see the horses.
There are inside and outside cats at Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster. The outside cats are housed in the barn while the inside cats stay in the house with Karen Mckinster, who runs the rescue. Karen is very compassionate for each animal. She makes sure that each animal at Rajah’s Rescue Sanctuary & Foster is loved and receives the attention it needs each day. Karen has extensive experience on how to care for even the most difficult to care for animal. We are dedicated to the health and rehabilitation of all of our animals due to we believe they deserve it after teh lives most of tehm have had. We love what we do!!

Additional adoption info

$150 adoption fee with a contract
We start with a 7 day trail period to make sure the adopter and the pet are happy with each other, once that has been established and the adopter decides to keep the pet, there is a fee of $150 per pet (this fee is returned to the animals here on the rescue as we are non-profit organization and helps with the costs of spaying/neutering and care for the animals). We do require a fenced in yard for all dog adoptions and all pets are to be INSIDE PETS ONLY. We also require to keep in contact with the adopters for 1 year after the contract is signed so we can see how their new pet is adjusting.
