All dogs/puppies and cats are spayed/neutered, given age appropriate vaccinations prior to leaving the shelter.
Adoption fees range from $20 to $300. On 15th day fee after being made available, adoption fee drops.
There is a $15 mandatory microchip fee for all dogs and cats adopted from the shelter.
DOGS:
* Amador County residents must also purchase a dog license for an additional fee at the time of adoption. If the dog is still a puppy, less than 4 months, the license will be active when the puppy receives its rabies vaccination.
* Heartworm testing is done on dogs that are 6 months of age and older.
* An initial assessment of the dog's behavior is performed at the shelter prior to adoption. Although we do our best to provide adopters with information on the dog's behavior, this assessment in no way guarantees the behavior of the dog in a different setting after the adoption.
* We will check to ensure all other dogs in the household hold a current dog license prior to the adoption of your new Animal. If one or more of your dogs is not current on a dog license, you will need to purchase a dog license for them prior to the adoption of your new animal.
