We do adoptions in Campbell, San Jose and Palo Alto. See our schedule at the bottom so you can come out and meet us and our dogs. It doesn't matter what your zip code is, if you're a match for our dog and you are willing to meet at our adoption site, we are happy to pursue an adoption. We travel from No. CA to So CA to Las Vegas so we are willing to adopt to all areas. We do not ship our dogs though, so it's a face to face meeting. If you're planning to travel quite a distance, make sure you fill out the application first, do the interview and are set up to be the first to meet the pooch of your choice. We value your time too.
Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto's adoption process
1.
Submit Application
Pls read the biography on the dog first and if the dog sounds like a match, pls fill out an application on our website.
2.
Interview
We review applications and we choose the application(s) that appear to be the best match and we do a phone interview.
3.
Approve Application
If the Interview Team agrees it is a match, then we approve the home.
4.
Pay Fee
In order to make an appointment to meet the dog you are interested in, we require a $50 deposit that goes towards your adoption fee.
5.
Meet the Pet
Once the deposit is paid we then set up the home to meet the dog.
6.
Pay Fee
Pay the Fee and take the dog home!
