Shelter FAQs

Pickens County Animal Shelter is a government agency that provides animal shelter services including adoption and reuniting missing dogs with their owners. We do not offer veterinary services. We do not take in cats. However, all Pickens County residents can get up to 3 vouchers per month to have any community/feral cats fixed!! If you need to surrender a pet please email pcas@pickenscountysc.gov we do not take in owner surrenders without an appointment which is only made via email.

Additional adoption info

All Adoptions are in person only and first come first serve. We also offer a 7 day foster to adopt that allows you to take the dog home and see how they will fit into your household.
Can't adopt? We also Adventure Buddies. Which is a program that allows anyone over 18 to take an adoptable dog out on a daytime adventure, overnight journey or a week long exploration!!
