Rescue FAQs

Almost Home Canine Rescue (AHCR) was founded in Madison, SD. In Early 2018, the group was reestablished in the Sioux Falls, SD area by a group of passionate animal lovers. While we are now based in Sioux Falls, we continue to have a large presence in Madison through community events and assisting the Madison Animal Shelter. Our continued presence will not only fulfill our mission, but also assist in reducing the overpopulation of animals in our area and the surrounding communities. Controlling overpopulation is the foundation in which our organization was established on. ​AHCR is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is 100% volunteer-run and serves to help abandoned animals find new homes. All of our adoptable animals are in foster homes (we do not have a building or a shelter.) Please complete the application process in order to meet one of our animals.
We are based in Sioux Falls, SD. Serving the areas of South Dakota, SW Minnesota, and NW Iowa, we will consider adopters that live within 6 hours of Sioux Falls.
