Rescue FAQs

We are Forgotten Friends of Long Island (FFLI) and we are driven to rescue the forgotten ones in our shelters or the ones abandoned and alone on the streets. Dogs and cats on euth that sit in the shelter being passed up just because they look ordinary or maybe have disabilities like blindess or fear. This rescue is not about the numbers, but focused more on the lost ones who deserve a chance at life.
FFLI is an all volunteer rescue working for the love of the homeless animals. We pull from the NY ACC and Long Island kill shelters when we can. We do not have a shelter of our own and have recently started our "Build a Home" fund to get a little place of our own!! To donate to the building, please visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/ffoli or our website www.forgottenfriendsoflongisland.org.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of a completed application, a phone or in-person conversation and a home visit. It is of the utmost importance to us to make a match with the adopter(s) and the dog or cat. The goal is a forever home so this is why this match is so important :) It is our pleasure to provide continued assistance with all of our adopted pets and no adoption is final until a bond is formed between you and your new dog/cat. You are now part of the FFLI family and we are always here for our animals.
