Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center

The Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center acts as the adoption facility for Downriver Central Animal Control. The intake facility (located in Southgate, MI) handles all intakes (strays, abandoned animals, court cases...). The adoption facility (located in Wyandotte, MI) brings the animals over (if adoptable) and have completed their requisite holds at the intake facility. This can sometimes take a few weeks if the adoption center is at capacity. The facilities handle approximately 500-700 animals per year. OUR ADOPTION FACILITY IS RESCUE FRIENDLY. Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center acts as the adoption facility for our intake facility (Downriver Central Animal Control). All strays and abandoned animals go through DCAC first for assessment, then are moved to the adoption facility once deemed adoptable and as soon as space is available.
