Additional adoption info
Once an animal is chosen for adoption, an application will be filled out. Applications will be reviewed within 72 business hours. During that time, the application will be reviewed by the Animal Services Director. If the prospective adopter has or has animals, we will look to make sure they are up-to-date on their rabies vaccination and registered with the county (if you reside in St. Clair County, IL). Within 72 hours, we will contact the prospective adopter and let them know our decision.
From there, they will come in and pay their new pet's adoption fee.
• The flat fee for dogs is $95 and $115 if the prospective adopter wants their new dog to be heartworm tested.
• The flat fee for cats is $70 or $100 if the prospective adopter wants their new cat FIV/FeLV tested.
At that time, the Adoption Agreement, Animal Disclosure, and microchip information will be completed.
