Additional adoption info
The SPCA has many fine animals ready for adoption by caring and able people. We would be happy if you would provide a loving home for one of our animals.
Always keep the SPCA in mind when you are looking for a pet. Call or pay us a visit, there's no obligation.
A questionnaire is required for approval before adoption and is good for 1 year from date approved. We'll be glad to assist you in your search for the perfect pet.
Fax completed questionnaire to 902-742-3610
Don't forget, when you adopt a pet at the SPCA you may be preventing an unnecessary death! Just as spaying and neutering prevents pet overpopulation. After you adopt, remember, we still care.
Adoption Costs
Dogs over 6 months of age (spayed/neutered) -- $145.00
Puppies 6 months & under -- $80.00
Cats over 6 months of age (spayed/neutered) -- $95.00
Kittens 6 months & under -- $60.00.
*All dogs/puppies and cats/kittens have had their first vaccine and deworming. Cats and kittens are feline leuk tested and treated with Revolution.
*Animals under 6 months adopted outside Yarmouth County are given a "proof of spay/neuter" form. A deposit of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats will be left at time of adoption. This must be signed by vet at time of neuter/spay, returned to us and refund of deposit will be sent by mail.
* Spay and Neutering IS MANDATORY. Animals will be reclaimed by shelter if they are not neutered.
