Additional adoption info
When you are ready to commit to a dog for his/her WHOLE LIFE, please contact us directly for an application. Our email is pugglesnpitties@gmail.com.
The adoption process includes the following:
1. You fill out an Application
2. We review your Application and follow up with a phone call to ask questions and get a better sense of the person behind the app.
3. Vet reference is checked, as is verifying with your landlord that the dog is permitted in the home (if applicable).
4. Meeting your dog. We will arrange for you to meet the dog you are interested in at a location mutually convenient to all. Our dogs live in foster homes while they are with us, so all meetings are done on a one-on-one basis by appointment. If there are children or other dogs in your home, this is also the time to see if your potential new family member gets along well with them.
5. Home visit. Every potential forever home must undergo a home visit before the dog will be released to your care.
6. Finally, if all goes well, you will be able to bring your new family member home!!
All dogs adopted through Puggles & Pitties will be altered prior to adoption and will be up to date on all shots, as appropriate for the dog's age.
The fee to adopt a dog from Puggles & Pitties is $250 for adults and $300 for puppies. These donations help offset some of the costs associated with rescuing your dog.
