Rescue FAQs

We are a no-kill shelter/sanctuary, rescuing critters in AZ, NV, CA depending on situation and circumstances. We take abused, neglected, abandoned, elderly and mostly special needs. We are the end home for critters before they die and they have a home for the rest of their lives. We have horses, pot-bellied pigs, pigmy & dwarf goats, dogs (over 5 years old), birds not adoptable, non poisonous snakes, iguanas, bearded dragons and a timor monitor. All are either elderly, crippled, on special medications or supplements or behavioral problems due to mistreatment. They are here to finish out their lives, because they were unwanted, couldn't be kept due to physical problems or due to owner's death, etc. My husband and I have been rescuing and tending critters for 27 years. I'm a retired RN, Vet Assistant and am still doing animal training. My husband works fulltime, as we are the main support of 40 critters. Most will never be adopted, so we try to give them the best of care, training and lots of love and socializing. We have no volunteers or sponsors to help us. Some, we've had for over 10 years and all have become pets. We love all animals and feel like we get lots of love back from them. Please help us, help those who have no choice or voice in life as to what happens to them.
We do rescue and shelter in ,Tucson, AZ, Pima County, AZ. But we'll take in from other states if shipment or transportation is paid for. We also do shelter transfers of elderly or crippled. Our sanctuary is their "last home" before passin' over the Rainbow Bridge. Our critters are almost all special needs, either physically or emotionally. It gets quite expensive with lots of vet bills. They are the "throw away" critters and we hope that we can give 'em the best care, comfort and love, before they die. We need help, donations, volunteers, help with PR paperwork and filin' for grants. Prayers that my health will let me continue this work.

Additional adoption info

We adopt on individual basis only, no fees, but donations, volunteer work or sponsorship is asked for.
Must have home with enclosed yard for dogs or cage requirements for reptiles.
Home checks are done before adoption and can be done again after adoption and pet has settled in.
