Rescue FAQs

Project Racing Home is a non profit organization that was founded six years ago. During that time we have placed over 900 greyhounds into loving homes. Our motto is, "the right hound in the right home with the right family." We work specifically with retired racing greyhounds, finding homes for these wonderful animals once they have finished their racing careers. Our kennel facility can house up to 48 dogs, all of which are personality profiled (cat safe, kid friendly, confident, shy, etc.).
Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Chapel-Hill, Piedmont Triad area.

Additional adoption info

Anyone who is interested in adopting a greyhound, must first fill out an adoption application either on line or at the kennel. Within 1-3 days they will receive a phone call or email letting them know their application has been approved. The next step is to come to the kennel to speak with an adoption counselor and meet the dogs. After finding the dog that is the best match, all adopters must fill out an adoption contract agreeing to care for their new pet, and if at any point they are no longer able to care for him/her, they must immediately return the dog to PRH. The adoption fee is $275. This covers the spay/neuter of the dog, a 3 year rabies vaccine, yearly vaccines, a martingale collar, and a basket muzzle.
