Rescue FAQs

Backwoods All Breed Rescue is a small family ran rescue that believes that every breathing soul should be given a second chance in life to have a full and successful one.
We believe that all animals are equal and that they all need lots of love, caring and passion. Which makes it hard to choose one over the other. So in all fairness we have decided not to have a featured pet. Backwoods All Breed Rescue is a small family ran rescue that believes that every breathing soul should be given a second chance in life to have a full and successful one. We are a Backwoods family that strongly believes that every animal in life has the right to have a healthy and safe place to lay their heads everynight and to run an play during the day. Our rescue is held in the back hills of the Historical Roscoe Village in Coshocton, OH We rescue animals from our local Animal shelter and Humane Society along with others throughout OHIO. We are well known for taking in the neglected, abused, blind and deaf animals along with taking in extra large breed dogs. All the animals that come in to our rescue are Heart Worm tested, put on prevenative care, altered and given their shots and wormed to assure them that they are up todate. In the rare case that this hasn't been done the adopter is required to take the animal to the vets and have them checked up in a timely manner. We tempermant test all the animals that come in to our rescue to the best of our ability. They are tested with dogs, cats, rabbits, children along with men and woman. We test to see how they do on a leash and collar/harness. Along with how they do in kennels and on chains outside and how they do with staying in a crate at night. If there is something in particular you want the dog to be tested on, you can ask and as long as we feel it is approperate we will do so.

We strive to get the animals that come into Backwoods All Breed Rescue homes as soon as they can so they can begin their new lives with families who want, and are willing to show them the love they deserve. This also allows us to be able to bring in more animals so the circle continues on and on.
