Rescue FAQs
Located in beautiful north central Wisconsin, we have a beautiful new facility and dog walking trails. We are a full service, unlimited admissionhumane society shelter contracted with the county to house all stray animals. We believe in the humane and ethical treatment of all living creatures, and promote these beliefs in our actions and educational outreach programs. We work with rescue groups, volunteers, and the public to promote sterilization of companion pets and "forever" homes. All dogs, cats and rabbits are sterilized before adoption or have a scheduled appointment at a time determined by veterinary staff.
All municipalities and unincorporated areas of Marathon County.
Additional adoption info
Pre adoption application required, including references, and proof of home ownership or rental permission forthe pet in question. All members of the household are required to visit the pet prior to adoption. In the case of dogs, other dogs in the household must meet potential new dog. Selections are not made on a first come basis, but an overall likelihood of a successful placement based on the application information and meetings.
