Shelter FAQs

The Eastern Madera County SPCA was incorporated in 1990. We are in an area with the highest euthanasia rates in the U.S. Our area is 45 minutes from the county shelter where thousands of animals die each year. Our goal is to promote adoption, offer spay/neuter assistance, and educate the public about proper animal care.
We serve the foothill area of Eastern Madera County California.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. Or view an adoptable animal online.
  2. Submit Application
  3. Interview
  4. Meet the Pet
  5. Approve Application
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
  7. Pay Fee
    1. Then take the pet home.

Additional adoption info

We encourage felines are indoor only and canines have a fenced yard.
