Rescue FAQs

We are a registered society under the society act in the province of B.C. Founded in 2008, the rescue was created in response to the growing exotic animal pet industry and the need of reptile rescue, rehabilitation and education. We are a small but dedicated group of core volunteers who have a variety of valuable experiences working with and caring for various reptile and amphibian species. Most of our animals are housed in foster care by dedicated volunteers. We have a vet who supervises our animal's care and a variety of institutions we network with when we receive animals unsuitable for adoption.
We serve Vancouver Island, BC Canada. We specialize in the care of exotic reptile species and strive to educate the public about exotic reptile's proper care. We accept all reptiles with the exception of Controlled Alien Species. We do not adopt out any animals we believe to be dangerous or unsuitable as pets. We have an adoption process that includes an application and interview process to insure that the right animal is matched with the right family.

Additional adoption info

Anyone interested in adopting a particular animal listed on our website contacts our rescue. We make the potential adopter aware of all of our policies. The potential adopter fills out an adoption application, which determines if the adopter has sufficient knowledge, time, equipment and space to care for the animal. We may require a home visit for animals that require significant accomodations. After that adoption application has been submitted, a final adoption interview takes place at which time the adopter is either approved or denied. All adoption fees are by donation.
