Rescue FAQs

Ferdinands' Familia is an all species non-profit 501(c)3 home-based organization dedicated to the rescue and permanent placement of injured, abandoned and homeless animals. We provide a safe and secure home for animals until a healthy family environment can be located. We strive to create awareness on animal welfare issues through educational seminars, community events, media-based public relations and K-12 school field trips.
Ferdinand's Familia serves the communities of Southern California, including San Diego County,, Imperial County, Orange County and Los Angeles County. We are adoption partners with the San Diego Department of Animal Control, Chula Vista Animal Control and the North County Humane Society located in Oceanside, California. We specialize in older and behavioral issue animals. When funding is available we also attempt to rescue animals with medical issues.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes an adoption application, adoption agreement and in most cases a site visit. Our fees are divided by species and the age of the animal. If there are excessive veterinarian costs, those will be included in the adoption fee.
