Shelter FAQs
We are a Government run County facility. The dogs in our shelter are here as strays or owner surrendered due to various reasons mostly through no fault of the dogs. We do our very best to temperament test the dogs. We do have office cats that we are able to socialize the dogs with to find out their reaction to cats. We also have a professional trainer that works with the dogs once a week. We treat all of the dogs as if they were are very own and try to make their time in the shelter a positive experience for them.
We are the only animal shelter for the entire County of Paulding Ohio. We provide dog control services and shelter adoptions.
Additional adoption info
The adoption fee for all dogs is $50.00. All of our adoptable dogs have been vaccinated for distemper, hepatitis, parvo, lepto, and corona and have been treated for possible flea and intestinal parasite problems. We do adopt out of state and out of country (Canada) adoptions. Our adoption process is very simple and easy. We have no waiting period for applications and the dogs may go home the same day they are applied for.
