We are a small group of volunteers that monitors 3-4 county animal control facilities. We are based around Jacksonville, IL. Some of our volunteers foster animals in their homes, because we have no facility or shelter.

The fee we ask for an animal is usually specific to the animal. We usually adopt a cat or dog for however much money we have invested in them except, of course, if we have spent a large amount to return that animal back to a healthy condition. We ask that potential adopters complete an online application at our homepage of www.thedogpen.petfinder.com prior to a visit with the animal. We do prefer experience with animals and a fenced yard for dog adopters.

Then we increase exposure of these animals in need prior to their down day. The morning of the down day, we go to those pounds, pick up the doomed animals to transport to either our veterinarian or to another rescue with space. After being vetted these animals are taken into our foster homes and cared for as our own until adopted.
