Rescue FAQs

Wyoming Dachshund Rescue is a small, family run rescue in southeastern Wyoming. Our love of Dachshunds evolved into starting a rescue for them. We believe that temperment and personality are the most important qualities in any dog. All of the dogs in our rescue live with us, eat with us and sleep with us. We try to expose them to as many situations as possible. We take them to the lake, Dachshund races, parks, long walks on the Ranch and socialize them with all of the dogs here. Before the dogs are placed we know their personality and disposition and try hard to find the perfect forever for them.
Wyoming Dachshund Rescue has taken dogs from Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska , Kansas and South Dakota. We have placed dogs in each of those states along with Alaska, Idaho and Montana.

Additional adoption info

Wyoming Dachshund Rescue requires adoptors to fill out an adoption form. We will do a home visit and check your references. Our fees range from $275 for pure breed puppies to $125 for mixed breed dogs. We will always take the Dachshund back if it is not a good fit for the dog and the family. If, at any time, you can not longer care for the Dachshund we require that the dog be returned to Wyoming Dachshund Rescue.
