Rescue FAQs

The Animal Project began as a rescue group to help all animals in the New York area. It has since developed into a great organization where we find homes for great pets every day.

Additional adoption info

Please come and visit our adoptables on Saturdays between 2:00 and 6:00pm at the Petco at 92nd Street and Broadway in Manhattan.

If you are interested in adopting, simply:
1. Fill out a pre-adoption form.
2. Let us help you choose the perfect cat or cats that are right for you.
3. Schedule a home visit to make sure your home is "kiity-proof" (safe and secure for cats).

We ask for a $150 adoption donation to help us cover the cost of vaccinating, neutering, and testing each cat for FIV and FeLV. We're strong advocates of the buddy system, and require that kittens under ten-months-old be adopted in pairs unless there is already a young animal in the home to serve as a playmate.

We have cats of all ages, shapes, sizes, and colors. The one thing they all need is a permanent, loving home. Nothing warms a home like a cat or two. Please come and meet our furry friends!
