Rescue FAQs

Big Dog Rescue and Adoption is a small dog rescue group in Michigan who rescues neglected,abused and surrendered large breed dogs and re-home them to new loving homes throughout Michigan. All of our dogs and puppies are seen promptly by a licensed veterinarian and have had a health check, all required vaccines for there age and a general health routine. All puppies and or dogs over 4 months of age are spayed or neutered and tattooed for future identification of fixing. ( Fecals, wormings, heartworm testing, treated for fleas and ticks and general health assesment) all puppies will go to their new homes with a puppy pack including health papers, heartworm prevention, their second dose of flea and tick prevention, a bag of puppy food and toys appropiate for their age.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must fill out a pre adoption form, allow a rescue member to do a pre adoption check and or follow up check to insure animals welfare. If puppies are adopted out before fixing, all adopters must sign a spay/neuter contract, giving 30 to 90 days to fix their pet. All potential adopters must have no prior animal neglect/abuse charges against them. All puppies have a $200.00 adoption fee and adult dogs a $300..00 adoption fee.
