Rescue FAQs

Canine Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue. We are a small group staffed by 2 full-time and 2 part-time volunteers and 2 full-time foster homes. Most of our dogs are pulled from high-kill shelters in SC, GA, and NC. The rest of our adoptables are "puppy mill survivors." We also incur costs to rescue these dogs just as we do with the shelters. Please feel free to ask questions - we are more than willing to share our experiences, answer any questions, and we strongly encourage you to do what YOU can to help! Ask us how you can help those who cannot speak for themselves!

All adoptions are to approved homes only. Approval process begins with completing the online Adoption Application. Please click on the link below for access to our application :

Adoption Guidelines

We will begin processing the application as quickly as possible. However, we are only a few volunteers and this process often takes several days to a week. We appreciate your patience.

We adopt out of state when we feel this is the best home for the dog. Transportation arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the adopter as are adoption fees which are non-negotiable and non-refundable.

Canine Rescue is supported solely by adoption fees and donations. We are staffed by volunteers (no paid employees) and 100% of donations goes for the continuing care of rescued dogs and puppies. Canine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) and all donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE! No amount is too small to help. We appreciate, in advance, your support!
