The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility's new shelter location opened in the Fall of 2001. Services include stray and nuisance animal pick-up, acceptance of lost and relinquished animals, assistance for injured and sick stray animals, control of biter, vicious or threatening animals, barking dog complaints, animal cruelty, fighting animals, animals in hot cars, lost and found assistance and dog licensing.

The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility encourages owners to spay and neuter their pets. There is a serious pet overpopulation problem occurring right now in San Diego causing in thousands of unwanted pets to be euthanized (put to sleep) each year. By spaying or neutering your pet before it has offspring you can be a part of the solution to this problem. Call your veterinarian today or call us for a referral to a local veterinarian participating in low-cost program.

CALLING ALL ANIMAL LOVERS! Looking for love, but hesitant to commit? We need you! The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility’s Foster Program is looking for animal savvy people to care for adult cats and dogs, not to mention kittens and puppies! Why do these animals need fostering? They may be too young to be adopted, and sick or injured animals may need to be nurtured back to health. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent please call (619) 691-5123 today! If you have lost a pet in the cities of Chula Vista, Lemon Grove, National City or Imperial Beach please go to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility to look for your pet. Only you can identify your lost pet, do not rely on shelter staff to tell you on the phone whether your lost pet is at the shelter. Animals wearing an ID or license will often lose the tags. Once at the shelter, you can fill out a lost or found report or leave a flyer. This is a very important step that should not be missed. We encourage all owners to check the shelter in person at least every three days. Bring a leash with you and any proof of ownership you may have.
