Shelter FAQs

The Stockton Animal Shelter is an open-admission animal shelter with an annual intake of approximately 8,000 animals. We have a partnership with Hard Luck Animal Welfare Advocates who assist us with staffing, financial, volunteer, monetary and adoption needs.
The City of Stockton Animal Services serves the residents within the City limits and the unincorporated areas of San Joaquin County.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, current vaccinations, microchip with registration,and animal license within the City of Stockton or San Joaquin County. All animals adopted from our facility are required to be altered.
