Rescue FAQs

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.

VOLUNTEER:

Volunteer dog walkers needed to walk our dogs. We also need volunteers to socialize our dogs. Must love dogs. Training will be provided. Our facility is located in Freehold, NJ. If you have a few hours a month to volunteer, please contact us at rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com.

IF YOU'RE HAVING BEHAVIORAL ISSUES WITH YOUR DOG:

We recommend our professional trainer at BullysBehaven.com.

DONATE:

If you are donating though our PayPal please put in the "instructions to the merchant" which program you are donating toward. Any amount, larger or small, is much appreciated. Please consider sponsoring one of our animals waiting for their forever homes. You can also donate to one of our rescue programs. Pulling for the Pits sponsorship program (to help Pit Bulls in need of a home) and Kitty for the Cats sponsorship program (So we can pull cats and kittens from local shelters and help local people in need of rehoming their cats or kittens.). You can also donate to our Medical Donation programs to help us keep our rescue animals healthy.
We are located in Central New Jersey. Our adoptions depend on the specific rescue animal. Please contact Rescue Ridge about the rescue you would like more info about at (732) 681-3450 or rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com.

Additional adoption info

Just contact us at rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.
