Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue - Illinois

Dog rescue in Springfield, IL

Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue (FFGDR) was founded by a small group of people dedicated to the great dane breed. Our goal is to help neglected, abandoned, and abused great danes find their forever homes while educating the public. We believe that every animal deserves a forever family to love them unconditionally for the rest of their lives.

We are a small start up group with many years of experience with great danes and rescue. Our collective experience with Dane rescue will allow us to continue our desire to make an impact on the lives of the great danes we can take in and help. Currently, we accept surrenders from families and shelters and adopt to forever homes in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and, parts of Wisconsin. With the help of our supporters, we hope to eventually grow our group, spread our message, and rescue great danes.

FFGDR specializes in great danes. We accept great danes of all ages and from all types of situations. We are not a shelter, our dogs live in foster homes as part of a family until their medical and emotional needs have been met and they are ready for their forever homes.

Rescue FAQs

We currently operate in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and parts of Wisconsin.

Additional adoption info

We require everyone to complete an adoption application and submit a $25 application fee. Once we review the application and find it to be complete, we will call their references. They must submit 3 personal references and their veterinary reference. If they pass the reference check, we will then set up a home check with them. Once the home check is complete, they then get a phone call from the adoption coordinator to speak about a dog or two that we have in mind for them. If all is acceptable, they get to speak with the foster home at that point and schedule a time to adopt.
