The Highland SPCA was formed in 1996 to rune the Hifgland County Animal Shelter and make it more humane. This, we have done. The shelter is supported by donations and the proceeds of our benefit shop-- The Attic.

Additional adoption info

Adoption by application only. Nominal fee for adopting a dog; cats are free at this time. A vet from Blueridge Community College often uses our kitties to demonstrate spay and neuter techniques. A vet tech from Shanandoah Spay/Neuter often comes to give basic shots. The county has no vet at this time. We take our animals to one of the surrounding counties.
