Rescue FAQs
Special Animal Friends and Rescue, Inc. (S.A.F.A.R.I.) is a non-profit, no kill, foster based canine and feline rescue. SAFARI is run by a dedicated team of part time volunteers. Please allow a couple days for a member of the team to respond to any inquiries.
The Metro Detroit area, Including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. We cannot accommodate out of state adoptions, or adoptions outside the Metro Detroit area.
Additional adoption info
We do require that potential adopters complete an application in person and have a face to face interview with a member of our Adoption Approval Team. We do home inspections prior to approving any adoption, and cannot travel outside the southeastern Michigan area.
