Rescue FAQs

Dachshund Rescue of Northern California (DRNC) is a network of independent volunteers who work together with the primary mission to rescue and foster abandoned, abused, and unwanted dachshunds. We are a smaller, foster based rescue, meaning we care for our dogs in our homes and our foster's homes. It gives us more one on one time with the dogs that need it the most. Unfortunately, we do not have a kennel facility or any one place for potential adopters to come and visit our available dogs.
We serve Northern California from approximately the Stockton area north to the Oregon border. We have foster homes in many locations, including, but not limited to, SF Bay Area, Chico, CA and Reno, NV.

Additional adoption info

In order to determine which dog is most compatible for you and your family, we require all adopters to:
1. COMPLETE an Adoption Application form.
2. Schedule a home visit
3. SIGN a binding contract that outlines what DRNC requires of its adoptive parents.
