Rescue FAQs

We are a small group of people who simply care about dogs. ~ We take in just a few dogs at a time to help, so we can give each one intense personal attention/training/evaluation. We rescue dogs who really have no where else to go, such as from local high kill rural pounds or adults from the many Ohio Amish puppy mills. The foster dog then lives IN OUR HOME (not in a kennel!!) as one of our own canine family members -- this living situation best prepares the dog for living in YOUR home, as YOUR family member. We teach our fosters basic obedience TRAINING: housetraining, walk on leash, sit, down, come when called off leash, etc. ** The "Third Time" really IS the charm for one of these dogs: his first home didn't want him, we are his second home, and YOUR loving home is his third and forever home! :-)
We serve Ohio and surrounding states. Out of state adoptions are not a problem, as long as you are willing to make the road trip here to OH to meet your new canine family member. ** The "Third Time" really IS the charm for one of these dogs: his first home didn't want him, we are his second home, and YOUR loving home is his third and forever home! :-)

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract, require a fenced yard and a good vet reference. There is a sliding scale on fees. We like to meet the adopters in person and try to find the best match together.
** Of course all our foster dogs are first vet checked and healthy, fully vaccinated, spay/neutered, microchipped, clear of heartworms or any stool parasites, and on routine preventative meds (Heartgard, Frontline, etc.)
~~ We feel a very strong sense of responsiblity to the dog for the rest of his/her life and will always remain available to our adoptive homes as a resource for advice on training, behavior problems, nutrition, medical issues, etc.
