Rescue FAQs

Prior to adoption all animals will have been spayed/neutered, quarantined for at least two weeks, made current on their immunizations (includes rabies if they’re old enough), dewormed (for tapes, hooks, rounds and whips) and started on heartworm preventive (dependent upon age). If they're over 6 months of age, they will be tested for heartworm and must be negative to be available for adoption. The adopter will receive a copy of their health record and Interstate Health Certificate.

Adoption Fee: $350 (unless stated differently in the listing). (This includes the $150 transport fee and the extra vetting required for transport.)

If you are interested in adopting our lovable dog,

Download our ADOPTION APPLICATION click here.
COMPLETE and e-mail the ADOPTION APPLICATION to: DCHATn@Live.com

Usually, within less than 48 hours of our having received your application, we will have reviewed it and notified you of our decision (unless its a weekend and we cannot check your vet reference). Assuming you have been approved, we will send additional information.
