Rescue FAQs

Tiny Paws and Chi Rescue is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, abandoned and neglected small breed dogs.
Tiny Paws and Chi Rescue is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, abandoned and neglected small breed dogs. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. Tiny Paws and Chi Rescue foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) Our dogs come from shelters, animal control, puppy mills, as well as owner turn-ins. They are immediately taken to our veterinarian for a complete physical examination. They are spayed or neutered, if needed, and receive all vaccinations. They are checked for both heart and intestinal worms and receive the appropriate treatments. Each dog is current on vaccinations, flea preventive, and on HW preventive. Adoption fees are to assist us with their transports, sterilizations, vaccinations, medications, micro chipping, tests, grooming, feed, toys, doggy blankies, general care, time spent, ETC!

Additional adoption info

Please keep in mind when adopting, that we operate our rescue group SOLELY from the adoption fees. We receive absolutely no funding from anyone. There are many hidden expenses prior to offering a pet for adoption...adoption processing (phone calls, phone calls and phone calls... and various office items, e-mails; TIME!) and general daily care (feed, treats, toys, bathing items, blankets, etc) -and for replacements of whatever a foster may "accidentally" have destroyed during its stay! (i.e. pup and/or new nervous dog!) We are running our rescue group as a solution to a Huge pet overpopulation problem, so we certainly do not make any profit!
